Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, are worldwide, non-political, non-sectarian spiritual organizations founded by Swami Vivekananda in 1897. With headquarters at Belur Math, Howrah, West Bengal, and with 163 branch centres in India, the twin organizations have been engaged in various forms of humanitarian, and social service activities. Inspired by the ideals of renunciation and service, the monks and lay devotees of the Math and Mission serve millions of men, women and children, without any distinction of caste, religion or race, because they see the living God in them. Ramakrishna Mission, Villupuram Sri Ramakrishna Educational Society, Villupuram was started in 1983 by a group of devoteeswho were inspired and guided by Most Revered Swami Tapasyananda Ji Maharaj, the then President of Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai.The Society Office was inaugurated in May 1983 by Ms. C.K.Gariyali IAS, the then District Collector. With a humble beginning, the Society established three schools one by one gradually, catering to the educational requirements of children living in Villupuram town and nearby villages. On 25 April 2019 Sri Ramakrishna Educational Society, Villupuram, transferred propertiesof its three schools to Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, Dt.Howrah. The official handing over of management was done on 2 June 2019. All the three schools are currently managed by Ramakrishna Mission, Villupuram.
